About Dr. Bilal Bin Mukhtar :
Dr. Bilal Bin Mukhtar is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Transplant Hepatologist who graduated from King Edward Medical University (KEMU) in 2003. He completed his residency and fellowship training in internal medicine, gastroenterology, and transplant hepatology in the USA.
He served as Associate Professor of Gastroenterology at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, Memphis, USA, for over 8 years before returning to Pakistan to join National Hospital & Medical Centre, Lahore. His clinical expertise spans the full spectrum of GI and liver diseases, including inflammatory bowel disease, pancreaticobiliary disorders, cirrhosis, and liver transplant care.
He is proficient in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, including EGD, colonoscopy, PEG placement, ERCP, and endoscopic ultrasound (EUS). He integrates US training and international protocols with compassionate care, focusing on accurate diagnosis, minimally invasive treatment, and long-term disease management. He is dedicated to clinical excellence, medical education, and advancing gastroenterology standards in Pakistan.
