Prof. Dr. Shahida Khawaja is a distinguished Consultant Anaesthesiologist who completed her MBBS, FCPS, and MCPS in Pakistan and her Diploma in Anaesthesia in the United Kingdom. She approaches her profession with passion and demonstrates exceptional skill in clinical, academic, and leadership roles.

With decades of experience, her expertise spans general and regional anaesthesia, chronic pain management, obstetric anaesthesia, and the ICU management of critically ill patients. As former President of the Pakistan Society of Anaesthesiologists, she has championed patient safety and the standardisation of safe anaesthesia practice across the country.

Prof. Shahida Khawaja is a dedicated mentor and teacher who has trained many doctors in anaesthesiology. She has represented Pakistan at numerous international conferences, presenting research on anaesthesia and pain medicine. Her clinical priority is the alleviation of pain associated with illness, surgery, and postoperative recovery.

Following her return from the UK, she introduced epidural analgesia for labour in Lahore, transforming obstetric pain management for women. She is widely acknowledged as one of Pakistan’s most trusted consultants.
